The Lemont Block Wins a Maine Preservation Honor Award

We’re honored to accept a Maine Preservation Honor Award at an upcoming ceremony on March 22nd 2022 at the Maine Maritime Museum!

Maine Preservation’s mission is to promote and preserve historic places, buildings, downtowns and neighborhoods, strengthening the cultural and economic vitality of Maine communities - and receiving their validation for all the hard work put in by many parties into the Lemont Block is extremely humbling.

The annual Maine Preservation Honor Awards have celebrated excellence in historic preservation since 1998, focusing on the transformative rehabilitation of historic buildings and the people that make those projects possible. We also want to recognize the grassroots efforts of folks advocating for important places in their communities, the creative activation of underused open spaces, the long haulers who steward historic buildings across the state, and the legacy businesses that serve as cornerstones of our downtowns. It is through these projects and people that the cultural and economic vitality of Maine is strengthened for the future.

Join us for Maine Preservation’s annual Honor Awards, celebrating excellence in historic preservation leadership, rehabilitation, and craft. The Awards program shines a light on how adaptively using and updating vacant and underutilized historic structures is an essential ingredient for community revitalization and vigor.
